You can now shop Balenciaga’s Cargo Sneaker straight from the runway without having to wait the usual four to five months before Spring-Summer 2024 collections arrive on our shores. Indeed, these chunky sneakers only made their debut a couple of days ago at Paris Fashion Week.
For now, the Cargo Sneaker comes in a single colour combination, featuring grey, black and yellow microfibre and mesh detailing. This immediately brings to mind the OG Triple S sneaker from seasons past, except with a new makeover. The worn-out effect, exaggerated volumes and reflective detailing on the upper are all signature Balenciaga elements. The new Unity sports icon artwork features on the upper and sole, along with 3B logo embossing on the sides. You will also find logos on the outsole, back and tongue embroidery.
Interestingly, these sneakers do not follow the conventional size chart. Instead, Balenciaga has intentionally made them oversized and unisex, so that each covers a range of two to three sizes. Sizing down is thus recommended, so go for 42 if you typically wear a 43, as there are currently only limited sizes available for the online pre-launch. Good news if you abhor anything leather, because the Cargo Sneaker is entirely leather-free. Retailing at SGD2070, each purchase also includes extra laces. These are now shoppable from Balenciaga Singapore’s online store, so go ahead and slide your feet into a new pair of kicks from the Spring-Summer 2024 runway collection.
