After collaborations with brands like Jason Wu and Vivienne Westwood, footwear company Melissa now teams up with 52 By HIKARUMATSUMURA. At its helm, of course, is Hikaru Matsumura of Bao Bao Issey Miyake fame. Together, they introduce the Mogu Bag.

The collaboration has birthed a unique piece that’s inspired by art and architecture. It marries Melissa’s one-of-a-kind patented MEFLEX plastic material with Hikaru Matsumura’s signature experimental geometric design code to deliver a playful and instantly recognisable bag.

There’s also a particularly interesting detail to note. While it might not be clear from the image above, the bag is reversible, making it a fun two-in-one. Sturdy, water-resistant and flexible, one side features a smooth canvas that emphasises the visually interesting diamond pattern. Flip it and you’ll get a funkier look with textured loop designs that envelop the bag’s surface.

Measuring 32 cm wide by 33 cm high, the functional glossy number easily fits your must-have iPhone, wallet and keys, with remaining room for A4 documents and even a water bottle. You can carry it in hand or sling it over the shoulder with its duo handles. Plus, it comes in four vibrant hues, Black, Pink, White and Yellow, that are sure to delight.

Priced at SGD209, the Melissa Mogu Bag + 52 by Hikaru Matsumura is now available at Melissa boutiques located at PLQ Mall, Wheelock Place, and online via its e-store.
