What comes to mind when you think of a classic Louis Vuitton handbag? Firstly, it should come in the iconic Monogram Canvas, particularly in that specific shade of dark brown.

Another requisite lies in its construction that should incorporate the maison’s heritage trunk-making elements. From the boxy shape to the lock hardware, these factors further add to its timeless appeal.

For fall-winter 2023, Louis Vuitton releases three styles that you can consider as version 2.0 of the classics you already know and love.

The Petite Malle Capitale (SGD10,200) leads the line-up with a refreshing new curved top handle that gives it extra versatility. Gone are the days when it only worked as a clutch or crossbody, because you can now carry it like a chic lunchbox. The 20 cm by 12.5 cm bag also comes with a removable braided leather-interlaced chain with a 25 cm drop length, something you won’t find on classic Petite Malle bags.

Next up, the new Camera Box (SGD4750) seems to combine elements from the Petite Malle and Pochette Métis. However, it comes in a vertical construction measuring 17.6 cm by 12.5 cm. It features a mix of monogram and Monogram Reverse canvas, as well as a gold-tone S-lock on the flap. Equal parts fun and functional, this boxy bag can take you easily from day to night.

Lastly, the Vanity Case PM (SGD7400) makes a return in a compact rectangular shape. Complete with gold LV detailing at the sides, it showcases a new magnetic N-lock closure for easy access to the sheepskin-lined interior. Measuring 18.5 cm wide and 10.2 cm high, this hard-sided accessory will fit a small cardholder and beauty essentials.
