Monsieur Christian Dior often relied on signs and superstitions to guide him along his journey. This belief in destiny also led to the eventual creation of the storied fashion house we know as Christian Dior. One evening in 1946, he chanced upon a star-shaped cog on the ground, and took it as a sign of good luck that fuelled his desire to open the atelier.
Lucky charms were also the highlight of the first collection he presented on 12 February 1947. One of those, the five-pointed star, continues to hold significance at both Dior and Dior Beauty today. The Dior Kids collection also offers a rather charming creation, the Kid’s Star Bag, which appears in three versions.
The first two designs come in blue cotton denim and iridescent pink lambskin with quilted Cannage motif. Both come with a removable multi-colour Dior-engraved beaded chain strap. The third variation in metallic lambskin is reminiscent of a shiny gold star. This pairs with a gold-tone metallic chain embellished with CD signatures and more lucky charms like heart and bees as well.
Besides charming your mini-me, this delightful creation comes in just the right proportions to be a mini bag for ladies. Measuring 20 cm by 20 cm end to end, the star-shape exterior conceals a single zip compartment. Perfect for all your bits and bobs.
You can find the Kid’s Star Bag at the Dior Kids boutique in Marina Bay Sands. Prices range from SGD3200 to SGD3300, depending on the material, with limited quantities available for each.
