Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Chanel literally staged its #CHANELCruise show in the heart of Los Angeles. More specifically, at Paramount Studios where lights abound with over-the-top logos and large scoreboards setting the theme of the night.
And speaking of bright lights, they came in the form of megawatt celebrities like Margot Robbie, Paris Hilton, Elle Fanning, G-Dragon and Zhou Xun lighting up the arena as they took their seats.
An ode to Hollywood and Gabrielle Chanel's link to the city, when she was invited to dress actresses like Gloria Swanson for the big screen in the 30s.

Making sure there was something for everyone, creative lead Virginie Viard injected equal parts doses of glamour and fun into the collection, resulting in everything from elaborately sequinned evening bags to kitschy quilted bags that came in the shape of stars.

As for the runway collection, there was something to celebrate every aspect of the famed city. Think old-world Hollywood glamour in the from of the long shimmering dresses. Or the Venice Beach ‘exercise life’ with a nod to Barbie (especially apt since both OG Barbie Paris and new Barbie Margot were in attendance). If you love all things pink and purple, then don’t miss out on the knitwear and tweed coats.
There were also numerous references from the glitzy disco era in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Rhinestones on jumpsuits and bustier tops stole the spotlight with their shiny appeal, complete with matching shoes. As the theme moved on to the activewear (think Jane Fonda workouts from the 80s), skateboards, running shorts and tank tops took centrestage.
Most looks appeared with leg warmers, perfect for the year-end period when #CHANELCruise pieces starts to hit shelves. Come on Barbie, let's go party, in a vibrant, varied collection that only Chanel could pull off.
