For decades, Prada delved into a beautiful assortment of leather in varied finishes. You’re already familiar with the signature Saffiano, as well as smooth brushed leather styles dominating the line-up in recent seasons. Then, there are also standout variations, such as the soft padded nappa finish seen on #PradaMoon and grained pebbled leather on selected bucket bags.
Now, if you’re wondering what’s next, you’re in for a treat. Prada calls its new glossy material Antique Nappa leather. Its unique wrinkled effect is created by hand, so no two bags will ever look exactly the same. This adds a layer of visual interest with a playful dash of fun.
The totes, in particular, are a perfect representation of casual yet chic vibes. With an open-top format, they are perfect for tossing in several essentials in a fuss-free manner. The roomy carryall comes in small (33 cm by 30 cm) and large (39 cm by 31 cm). Each features two zipper pockets, as well as full-leather lining to ensure it maintains a rigid yet still very lightweight structure.
There’s no absolute right way to carry the tote. But if you would like to do so the way Prada intended, then you should know that models cradled it at the base, keeping it close to their body as they came down the Spring-Summer 2023 runway. The latest campaign styles the Antique Nappa Tote in similar fashion, appearing in four colours, Alabaster Pink, Black, Sage Green and Slate Grey.
