Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2023 collection arrives in Singapore, just in time for year-end shopping adventures. As with most seasonal collections, it splits into several dedicated drops, with the first launch featuring a darker colour palette. The key material is none other than Monogram Jacquard Denim, this time appearing in grey stone-washed effect for a classic yet minimalistic look.
Most bags in the collection are icons that you know and love from Louis Vuitton’s regular line-up. But one new-in piece that featured heavily on the runway is the interesting Side Trunk bag. Unlike typical structured, boxy trunks, this chic design has a deliberately soft body that sinks slightly in the middle. Depending on how you carry it, this feature adds extra versatility to the 21 cm by 14 cm design.
Each Side Trunk (SGD5400) comes with two removable straps. Sling the short handle over the shoulder, or wear the long leather strap (58 cm drop length) across the body. Alternatively, you can remove them and hold the bag as a clutch. The zipped upper is a nice touch, while the silver-tone S-lock is shrunk down and tucked at the side to provide an additional level of security.
Other bags to keep an eye out for include the Petite Malle (SGD9250) with the new gothic-inspired chain. Then there’s the Loop PM (SGD3450) in an eye-catching half-moon shape. Looking for roomier totes? The Neverfull MM (SGD2980) and Onthego MM (SGD4500) come in sizable open-top formats, measuring 31 cm by 28 cm and 35 cm by 27 cm respectively.
