When it comes to fashion, the term ‘puffer’ typically relates to thick, padded jackets with quilted sections that are fluffy. It isn’t very often that you find it beyond ready-to-wear. Until this season, with Loewe doing the unexpected by giving several signature handbags the puffer effect.

Padded with goose feathers, a material that remains lightweight despite its relatively thick volume, they are tucked between the soft leather in shiny nappa lambskin, no less. As a result, bags like the Flamenco and Goya instantly get a pillow-like texture like never before. Form truly meets function with these leather bags, as they retain a similar silhouette (as the original versions), just puffier.

Measuring 30 cm wide and 24.5 cm high, the Puffer Flamenco (SGD3990) is best carried as a clutch. Embellishing each bag is an Anagram logo at the corner and drawstring pulls ending with Loewe’s signature coiled knots.

The Puffer Goya (SGD4700) is slightly smaller at 23 cm by 17 cm. The flap bag design comes with a detachable metallic donut chain offering multiple options for carrying. The interior contains four pockets and a zipper compartment for easy organisation. An extra press stud slot further saves you the need for carrying an SLG.

Both styles come in five colours that will leave you spoilt for choice. Black, Camel, Clay Green and Dark Chocolate are standard options for both styles. The fifth option for the Puffer Flamenco is Lipstick (a bright red), while the Puffer Goya has a slightly paler hue called Plumrose.
