Monsieur Christian Dior extensively used black-and-white houndstooth in his couture and ready-to-wear collections. He often incorporated the pattern on signature bar jackets and dresses that eventually became synonymous with the French fashion house.

This season sees one of the largest houndstooth offerings in recent years. This is especially true with Dior’s miniature bags that come in either embroidered fabrics or embossed calfskin.
The lightweight jacquard houndstooth fabric appears on the Mini Lady D-Lite, Mini Dior Book Tote and Mini Dior Book Tote Phone Bag. Each style offers a slightly different silhouette, so it’s down to which you prefer.
The Mini Lady D-Lite (SGD6100), measuring 17 cm by 15 cm, is a smaller interpretation of the regular Lady D-Lite. Cute as a button, it’s perfect for days when you want the elegant handbag format but in a smaller size. You can also carry it via the wide, reversible and removable houndstooth embroidery shoulder strap.
Moving to variations of Dior’s beloved tote, with the Mini Book Tote (SGD3500) at 24 cm by 22.5 cm. The vertical Mini Dior Book Tote Phone Bag (SGD3450) has different proportions at 18 cm by 13.5 cm. While the latter is slightly smaller and shorter, Dior gave it an extra leather strap for extra points in terms of wearability.
The next two, each a play on the Lady Dior line of bags, come in calfskin with houndstooth embossing. There’s the Micro Lady Dior Vanity Case (SGD2700), a full-leather bag measuring 11 cm wide and 10 cm high. Think of it as a teeny-tiny beauty case complete with a leather top handle. It also has a shoulder strap that converts it into a miniature handbag in no time at all.
With smaller-than-small formats still all the rage, the Micro Lady Dior Bag (SGD5300) looks set on becoming another hot favourite. At 12 cm by 10 cm, this micro version sports the signature tubular top handles and D-I-O-R charms in polished hardware that match the black-and-white pattern to perfection.
