Home to the iconic CC twist-lock clasp, Chanel’s signature Flap Bag is one of its key signatures. This has been so ever since Gabrielle Chanel first conceptualised the 2.55 handbag. Over the years, seasonal offerings that do not classify as the Boy Chanel (with the boxy logo), Classic Handbag (with the double flap feature), Chanel 19 and 2.55 are simply referred to as the Flap Bag.

For #CHANELFallWinter, the French fashion house introduces a new variation. This time, it appears in an elongated vertical format, complete with top handle that’s reminiscent of a schoolboy satchel. Measuring 20.5 cm tall and 17 cm wide, it is simply the Small Flap Bag With Top Handle.

Familiar elements like the leather-interlaced strap, CC logo and a luggage-style tag are visible in front. Each bag opens to a decently sized interior with a small zipper patch pocket for extra bits.

Priced at SGD6270, this Small Flap Bag With Top Handle comes in a mix of cotton and tweed. Colours include Black and Ecru (a mix of grey and beige), with extra diamond-quilt stitching. The black patent calfskin option, which retails slightly higher at SGD6420, is another to consider.

Featuring prominently on the runway, these cotton/tweed versions, also part of the current #CHANELFallWinter campaign imagery, are perfect for those who love a different kind of flap bag.
