The #CHANELFallWinter collection officially launches on 21 September at Marina Bay Sands (followed by Takashimaya Shopping Centre a day after). So save the date and head down first thing in the morning to get your hands on the new-in goodies. To narrow things down, focus on one of the seasonal must-haves like the Chanel 22 Handbag, which returns in tweed.

For those unfamiliar with the material, tweed is made from carded wool originally produced in Scotland. Mademoiselle Chanel started using the cross-hatching fabric in her womenswear collections in the 1920s. It eventually became a regular fixture on RTW and bags, oftentimes with a patchwork detailing or diamond-quilted motif.

As a house signature, it makes perfect sense that Chanel dressed up the Chanel 22 Handbag entirely in tweed. You saw the full-leather styles, along with the velvet/sequins edition in previous seasons. Now it’s time to feast your eyes on four multi-coloured tweed options for #CHANELFallWinter.

First up, the Chanel 22 Handbag (SGD7980) in black-and-white wool tweed with multi-colour CHANEL tweed lettering in place of the usual gold or silver-tone hardware. This bag also features a heavier mix of wool so it’s slightly softer. Although the pièce de résistance is surely the oversize lettering, which makes it stand out in the Chanel 22 family.

The next three come with a more pronounced diamond-quilted tweed motif. Aside from Ecru and Pink (SGD7460), the third version comes in tweed patchwork pattern (SGD7610) with a mix of black, grey, pink and white elements. All come in the regular size measuring 42 cm by 38 cm, with a matching removable zipper pouch within.
