To celebrate Girard-Perregaux’s 231st anniversary (yes, it is one of the oldest haute horlogerie brands around), the Swiss watch manufacturer relaunched the iconic Laureato to immense success in 2016. The celebrated timepiece was one of GP’s signature silhouettes in the 70s. It originally launched with a unique combination of sporty codes and ultra-slim quartz movement, an excellent choice for daily wear.

Today, the timepiece comes complete with haute horlogerie complications to satisfy the growing demands of modern-day watch connoisseurs. Four case sizes range from 34 mm and 38 mm up to larger diameters like 42 mm and 44 mm. In other words, there’s a size for everyone and anyone. Not to mention over 30 references and materials (steel, gold, two-toned and titanium) for your consideration.

One of the key signatures of the Laureato lies in the polished octagonal bezel placed directly on an integrated case. Fitted without the need for lugs or loops, the timepiece carries a seamless, refined look that’s easy on the eyes. Classic pieces sport the definitive Clous de Paris hobnail dial, with tiny light-reflecting pyramids for a captivating effect.

Finishing touches include the metallic bracelet, which features a combination of satin-finish links and polished interlinks. It’s engineered with extra flexibility to sit comfortably on the wrist all day (and night) long.

This year, the Laureato officially welcomes a stunning version in full 18-carat pink gold for the 42 mm size. Even the bracelet comes in matching pink gold.

Complete with an onyx dial, warm golden baton-style indexes and GP logo, this beautiful new creation truly lives up to haute horlogerie standards and signature Laureato codes. The Calibre GP01800 has a see-through case-back that reveals a gold oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève.
