Dior’s Catherine Tote Now Comes In A Small Size

Before you start calling this a new iteration of Dior’s beloved Book Tote, it’s not. Instead, Dior calls this the Catherine Tote. Some of you might remember the larger version, unofficially called ‘pockets’ when it first appeared in the Spring-Summer 2020 line-up.

Why Catherine, you may ask? Well, it’s the name of Monsieur Christian Dior’s sister. Back in the day, Catherine Dior was a celebrated botanist and gardener at Paris’ Les Halles market. Put two and two together, and the reason for this gardening-inspired tote bag’s name makes perfect sense.

The contemporary Catherine Tote comes in Dior’s botanical Jardin d’Hiver motif. What’s also new this season is the smaller size measuring 28 cm wide and 18 cm high. This makes it slightly shorter but wider than the current Small Book Tote, making for an entirely new silhouette to add to your growing collection of bags.

Unlike with typical gardening tote bags, you probably won’t use it to hold miniature rakes, shovels or gloves. Instead, the eight exterior pockets are ideal for holding various accessories like a water flask or a portable charger. Or just leave them empty to serve as an extra visual element on the otherwise simple-looking tote bag.

Retailing at SGD5100, the Small Catherine Tote Bag is available across all Dior boutiques in Singapore. Piqued your interest? Head down to ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre to find out more.
