Balenciaga’s all poised to get you crushing on its latest wonder. The quilted leather creation first appeared on the Fall-Winter 2022 runway, set within a giant glass rotunda snow globe. Demna calls it this the Crush bag, and you can understand why it’s apt.

Using a flexible material that you can wrap your hands around and squeeze, the bag has the ability to shrink (and expand) with ease. These diagonally quilted creations are also given a crinkly finish that adds to their dramatic flair. It also offers a tactile nature you will surely appreciate whenever in use.

It will come in two sizes, namely small (25 cm by 15 cm) and medium (31 cm by 22 cm). Both feature a curvilinear base, pointed edges and B logo hardware reminiscent of the Hourglass bags.

What sets the Crush apart (besides the new pliable material) are the sliding chain straps that are equally versatile. Keep it looped twice and you have a shorter shoulder style to carry under the arm. Extend it all the way and it becomes a long sling to wear effortlessly across the body.

Call it a pillow or a bag, Balenciaga’s new bag is here to get your crush on. For now, only the Crush Small Chain Bag (SGD3150) is available for purchase. The medium (SGD3750) is only up for pre-orders, with estimated shipping dates slated for September.
