Celine seems to have gotten the right formula, especially in the flap bags department, which typically only leave you wanting more. Most of them come in a boxy shape with a statement logo in front, and usually feature a long shoulder strap that offers multiple ways of carrying over the shoulder and across the body.
And while you’re already familiar with the iconic Triomphe, here’s a different kind of flap bag you should check out.
Meet the Medium Tabou, a calfskin leather crossbody measuring 22 cm wide and 16 cm high, with a minimal silhouette that’s easy on the eyes. Instead of the typical Triomphe clasp, this one features a decorative padlock subtly engraved with the ‘CELINE PARIS’ logo.
Opening the bag is relatively simple; gently lift the snap button closure hidden beneath the lock to access the roomy interior. An accordion-like construction forms 2 separate compartments, ensuring that the bag stays slim and compact even when it’s fully utilised. But if you ever need more space, just pull the sides outward and it becomes slightly roomier to fit extra bits and bobs.
While the bag’s exterior is crafted out of smooth calfskin, the inner lining comes in full lambskin for a luscious leather combination in and out. Retailing at SGD3950 each, the Medium Tabou is available in Dark Olive, Safari (more cream-like) and Tan, which are all paired with shiny gold-tone hardware.
