Louis Vuitton has officially released official information regarding its highly coveted “Air Force 1”, designed by Virgil Abloh for Nike. No, these are not the same ones auctioned off in a special collaboration with Sotheby’s back in January, but rather 9 editions that will be commercially available from June 2022.

Nike’s “Air Force 1” is one of the greatest shoes of all time, and it certainly holds its weight after dominating the sneaker scene for 4 decades since it launched in 1982. The late Virgil Abloh was a huge fan of the silhouette, and he specially created 47 bespoke editions of the iconoclast sneaker for Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2022 menswear collection.

Each sneaker is crafted in the maison’s manufacture in Fiesso d’Artico, Venice, Italy using only the best materials from start to finish. Even parts like the Nike ‘Swoosh’ are adorned with the Louis Vuitton monogram, before being carefully stitched onto the main body of the sneaker.

The 9 editions will come in varied formats like low-tops (SGD3900) and mid-tops (SGD4900) with sizes ranging from 3.5 to 18. Go for the full white calf leather sneaker embossed with the monogram if you love a classic look, or you can always opt for a similar style in black monogram embossed suede if you’re a fan of a different texture.

The next 3 include mixed combinations like White/Comet Red, White/Gym Green and White/Team Royal Blue which all feature a trompe-l’oeil canvas in printed monogram leather. Shiny finishes include the one in gold metallic canvas, and there’s also a silver metallic piece complemented with multi-colour patchwork for an extra pop of colour.

Rounding up the 9 would be the Sail and Multicolour Damier leather with a unique Azure graffiti print decorating the sides. Pre-orders will be made available to the maison’s community, while June 2022 will see the global Louis Vuitton retail launch through an inclusive digital activation. In other words, these sneakers will only be sold online. Are you ready for it?
