The More-Is-More Blondie From Gucci Makes A Comeback

Gucci’s Blondie was the epitome of maximalist fashion when it first launched in the 70s. It came with the enlarged GG logo and elongated profile that channelled more-is-more with its big personality. Over the years, the Blondie became a house signature, even taking the spotlight at Gucci Vault from time to time which refurbishes and reintroduces vintage silhouettes from seasons past.

You will also be pleased to know that Alessandro Michele has officially revived the Blondie for the latest #GucciLoveParade collection. Simply known as the Blondie Small Shoulder Bag and Blondie Medium Shoulder Bag (yes, they will come in 2 different sizes), both come ‘anchored’ with the round interlocking GG logo in gold-toned hardware.

The Blondie Small Shoulder Bag (SGD4060) makes for a chic crossbody measuring 28 cm wide and 16 cm high. It opens easily via the magnetic closure to reveal a flat inner compartment with an extra zipped pocket, giving you ample space for all the necessary essentials. Each bag is sold together with a short Gucci chain and a long leather strap (39 cm drop), giving you several styling options for a hands-free look.

Prefer something larger? That’s where the Blondie Medium Shoulder Bag (SGD4420) comes in. At 29 cm wide and 22 cm high, this roomy format is great for day-to-night use, and its unisex style will work well for anyone and everyone. The medium is fashioned with two extra loops on top, so you can use one of two straps it comes with (there’s leather with 56 cm drop and another in green-red-green web canvas with 52 cm).

Both #GucciBlondie bags come in the Italian fashion house’s signature Beige/Ebony GG Supreme Canvas (there are full leather options too, and you can check them out here), making this a fun pick for fans of monograms. A huge fan of vintage silhouettes revived with a contemporary twist? This would be it.
