At her own namesake line, Gabriela Hearst has also been very open to working and collaborating with artisans all over the world. Her latest design celebrates the craft of Madres y Artesanas Tex in Bolivia, where bags like the Nina and Demi are carefully crocheted by hand in 100% cashmere.
For those who don’t already know, the Madres y Artesanas Tex is a small business organisation that hires skilled artisanal women for the production of its high-quality knitted pieces, so you can expect to find an exceptional level of skill going into these limited-edition crochet bags.

The crochet patterns are inspired by Gabriela Hearst’s personal drawing, re-interpreted into 4 exciting colours named Fire, Mineral, Neutral and Phoenix. It will come in two sizes, with Nina being slightly bigger at 23 cm wide and 15 cm high, while Demi is the smaller alternative coming in at 20 cm by 14 cm.
Nevertheless, both styles feature a similar folded silhouette with a structured top handle, finished with the brand’s signature turnlock closure in gold-tone metal.
