The fun thing about Jacquemus? You will never know what its founder, Simon Porte Jacquemus, will get up to next. From opening chic pop-ups all over Paris to showcasing his fashion shows amongst the lush lavender fields in Provence, the French fashion house has proven that it always has a surprise up its sleeves.
For the longest time, bags like the Bambino and Chiquito have been under the spotlight for their boxy silhouette and miniature proportions. But this year, Jacquemus has brought out the distinctive Le Sac Rond that’s big, bold and packing a whole lot of attitude.
The purse itself measures 26 cm wide and 12.5 cm high, but the magic lies in the structured round loop which doubles up as the bag’s handle. Sling it under the arm or make an impact simply holding it by hand; the choice is entirely yours.
The Le Sac Rond is also sold together with a removable shoulder strap, so that should add extra flexibility if you prefer a chic hands-free look.
Retailing at USD720 for the ones in smooth leather (Black, Pink, Turquoise and White) and USD750 for suede (Dark Beige), the Le Sac Rond is now available at Jacquemus’ online store.
Perhaps it’s time to keep the Bambino and Chiquito at home and switch it out for something big, fun and round for the season.
