To mark the launch of the #LVMenSS22 collection, the French fashion house has officially announced the launch of the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton X Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh.

The first thing to know? Do take note that these sneakers will not be commercially sold at Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide, but rather allocated in collaboration with Sotheby’s, where the limited-edition pairs will be open for bidding from 26 January 2022 to 8 February 2022.

The sneakers are fully made of calf leather, complete with Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram paired with Damier Azur panels and matched with natural cowhide piping, all in all making it one for the history books.

In other words, a truly special edition not to be missed for all the sneakerheads out there.

There will only be 200 pairs in sizes ranging from US5 to US18, so these coveted kicks are as rare as they get. Each pair will come together with the specially created Monogram Taurillon orange leather pilot case, with a starting bid of USD2000 in the online bidding system via this link.

The trunk-like case varies depending on the sneaker size and it will come with an internal cushion system to keep your sneakers in pristine condition at all times. It even sports Virgil Abloh’s signature ‘3% approach’, evident in the signature S-lock closure rendered in white metal, and the luggage tag reinterpreted into the shape of the Nike Swoosh.

Virgil Abloh has always been one to support a great cause, and proceeds from the sale of the sneakers will go toward The Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund which aims to provide education support for Black, African American or African students. This will be done in association with Virgil Abloh’s family, organised together with Louis Vuitton and Sotheby’s.
