Candle lovers, rejoice. Celine is expanding its Haute Parfumerie range with a candle collection. Conceptualised by Creative Director Hedi Slimane, the line-up is also the maison’s first-ever and here’s why you should be excited.
01 – Like the perfumes before them, the candles draw on Slimane’s own memories and will carry the same addictive and powdery signatures. Strike a match and let the scented wax bring to life Slimane’s private moments, from the bar of his Beverly Hills and Parisian apartments, to within couture ateliers.

02 – The collection comprises eight candles, all with evocative names. Six candles will launch first, including the familiar Nightclubbing from its fragrance collection, alongside new scents like Grands Lys, L’inventaire, Palimpseste, Papiers Froisses and Tambour Noir. The other two scents, Illuminations and Silence Blanc, are slated for release later in 2022.
03 – In line with the tradition of couturier parfumeur, each candle undergoes a meticulous production method developed by the maison’s wax-maker, one of the very few artisans that are trained both as a wax maker and perfumer.
Designed to recreate the accords and preserve the quality of the ingredients, the made-to-measure formula of six to seven waxes and oils goes through a painstaking creation process, including slow casting, and is only created in small batches.
04 – Formed in black wax, the candles come in luxe block-tinted black glass vessels fashioned after an 18th century silver goblet to match. Designed by Slimane, the vessels, in keeping with the tradition of French glassmaking, recapture the silhouettes of the perfume bottles in the line.
05 – To complete the home scenting ritual, the collection will also offer chic candle accessories that pay tribute to the practice of perfuming interiors. Look forward to a tan leather holder, travel case in Triomphe canvas, candle snuffle, wick trimmer, cover and matches.
Priced at SGD145 for a candle, the Haute Parfumerie Candle collection by Celine will be launching in Singapore at the end of February 2022. Stay tuned for more updates.
