This could be the most adorable pouch you lay your eyes on today, one that’s made to resemble Nissin’s distinctive cup noodle. In celebration of the cup noodle’s golden anniversary this year, the Japanese food company has teamed up with Japanese publishing company Takarajimasha to launch a Cup Noodle 50th Anniversary Book, complete with stickers and its main highlight, a collectable Cup Noodle Pouch that fans of the instant ramen won’t want to miss.
Measuring 12.5 cm at its widest and 14.5 cm in height, the quirky and unconventional pouch, which can fit an #iPhone12MaxPro standing up, is the ideal statement-making wristlet and can also be used to hold stationery, as a beauty case or simply to stash your single emergency cup noodle. Each pouch comes with a detachable wristlet strap and its striking fork-shaped zipper also makes for a standout detail.
On the outside, the eye-catching pouch looks just like the iconic pot noodle, right down to its distinctive logo and food label in Japanese, now with amusing instructions like ‘open and put what you like’ and ‘this is a pouch, do not add boiling water.’
Within, you’ll find it lined with delightful patterns of its classic ingredients such as noodles, shrimp, scallions, and meat cubes. Its inner silver lid also features a cat print complete with those fuzzy ‘cat ears’, a new W-shaped tab that was introduced this year to reduce plastic waste and to help keep the lid in place during the three-minute cooking process.
Available in two flavour designs, Original and Seafood, the Nissin Cup Noodle 50th Anniversary Book with Pouch is priced at SGD38.80 and can be purchased at Books Kinokuniya at Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
