In case you haven’t realised, Gucci’s iconic Bamboo bag is officially back. And officially black. For those who are unaware, here’s a little trivia about the iconic bamboo handle. Crafted using an intricate artisanal process involving open flames and lots of patience to slowly bend it into shape by Florentine artisans, the end result is the handle’s unique curved shape that’s also so sturdy it is almost unbreakable.

Part of the #GucciAria collection, Gucci’s Bamboo now comes in a wide array of colours, from baby pink to sky blue and even a stunning deep forest green for starters. But there’s one particular standout piece in full black (or ‘so black’) that’s guaranteed to turn heads for sure. Yes, the entire bag, from the handle to the clasp will come in full black, which is surely a first for the icon. 

Available in 3 sizes, the one in mini (SGD3700) is naturally the cutest, followed by sizes in small (SGD5300) and  medium (SGD6110). The bags will also come with two straps. One of them would be a thin leather strap that’s perfect for those wanting a full black look. The other would be the green/red Web stripe which adds a pop of colour, coming in a thicker format that will sit comfortably on your shoulder all day long. 

Singapore is currently carrying all 3 sizes at the local Gucci boutiques in ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands and Paragon Shopping Centre, so you should head on down to take a look in person whenever you can. Better yet, just head down to Gucci Marina Bay Sands because the new flagship store has been refurbished to great effect. Brighter, bigger, and filled to the brim with all the Gucci RTW, bags, shoes and accessories for both men and women. And definitely worth a trip down.
