Chloé’s Gabriela Hearst Launches New Juana Bag

Ever since Gabriela Hearst took over as Creative Director of Chloé, the French luxury fashion house has seen more additions of drool-worthy designs like the Woody (the classic structured tote bag) and the Edith (a revived classic) brought back to life. The former is a cotton canvas carryall embellished with the Chloé ribbon, while the latter is a chic day bag inspired by a vintage shape from seasons past. While they both feature a semi-structured (and rather rigid-looking) silhouette, Chloé has also introduced a pillowy-soft handbag known as the Juana in supple shiny calfskin leather.

It will be made available in 2 sizes, one of them being the Juana Mini (USD1540) which measures 25 cm wide and 10 cm high. The trapezoid shape gives the bag a streamlined aesthetic, and you can carry the mini size via the distinctive chain handle or attach the removable leather strap to wear it across the body. The calfskin leather is given a transparent coating to keep it resistant to daily wear while maintaining the leather’s soft and smooth qualities, giving you a solid piece that will weather the test of time.

There will be 5 different colours to look out for, namely Army GreenBlackBurgundySoft Tan and White, which are all right in line with Chloé’s colour DNA. Keep an eye out for the Juana Medium (from USD2472) if you prefer something significantly bigger at 43 cm wide and 18.5 cm high. The ones in medium also come with a slightly different twist, thanks to the scallop-quilted exterior which gives it a lovely tactile appeal.

Both the Juana Mini and Juana Medium are now available at the boutique in Marina Bay Sands, though a small selection is also available at Chloé’s e-commerce store with prices in USD. The best advice would be to view the Juana in-store because you never know how it looks till you try them on in person. And if the bag fits, you know what to do.
