More often than not, bags these days often get shrunk down into miniature formats, but it’s not exactly common when it gets ‘pulled’ horizontally. Enter Dior’s new East-West #DiorBobby, one that now comes with a wider profile and shorter height. Built for those on the hunt for a compact alternative to the beloved bag, it comes with sufficient tweaks and changes to call its own. Believe it or not, a bag that has a wider profile does have a ‘slimming’ effect, and you only need to try both at the boutique while facing the mirror to see it for yourself.
The 22 cm wide and 13 cm high bag opens via the magnetic clasp in front (one that’s hidden beneath the CD logo strap), revealing a spacious suede-lined interior that’s more than enough for a quick day out and about. Your long mobile phone (like the #iPhone13ProMax) can fit comfortably within (along with other essentials), and there’s even a card slot tucked inside that’s perfect for your ID and credit card. Flip the bag around and you will find another pocket and the ’30 Montaigne’ signature embossed across for a tactile appeal.
A noticeable change lies in the leather shoulder strap, this time coming in a slimmer profile to match the sleek silhouette of the East-West Dior Bobby bag (SGD4500). Of course, no one’s stopping you from switching it to your #DiorOblique jacquard canvas strap (or another Dior strap, for that matter) or even removing the straps altogether and carrying it under the arm like a chic clutch bag for that perfect evening look.
Available in colours like Amber (brown), Black and Latte (white), more pieces will be arriving at Dior boutiques locally at ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre in the weeks to come. Same, but refreshingly different too, don’t you think?
