If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then pearls would come in a close second for sure. Gabrielle Chanel was said to have worn layers of pearls and used them extensively in her costume jewellery back in the 1920s, while Karl Lagerfeld has often added them as embellishments on bags ever since he joined Chanel in 1983. Naturally, it comes without surprise that pearls have a special place at the French luxury house, frequently appearing on seasonal collections.

From the upcoming #CHANELMetiersdArt collection, there will be a selection of SLGs that come adorned with dainty pearl handles. Adding a whole new dimension, they are equal parts form and function, since you could choose to carry your little SLG via the pearl-embellished top handle. 

There will be 2 versions of the Clutch With Chain, measuring 12 cm by 9 cm and 15.3 cm by 10.5 cm respectively. One is more squarish and opens to a triple-compartment interior, while the other is slightly more vertical, with ample space to fit smaller smartphones. As for the Wallet On Chain, you will find numerous card slots, bill pockets and 2 zippered compartments tucked within, functioning as a full-sized wallet armed with an elongated strap to sling comfortably across the body or over the shoulder. 

All 3 designs come in full lambskin leather, with prices starting from SGD3780. More importantly, this collection should be launching at Chanel boutiques in Singapore towards the end of June, so at least that’s one more thing to look forward to this month.
