Tod’s Spring-Summer 2021 Oboe Bag

Ever since Walter Chiapponi took over as Creative Director of Tod’s in 2019, the Italian luxury shoemaker has been steadily introducing more bags that are as sleek as they are functional, evident in the Shirt range of shopping bags as well as the relatively new Oboe that’s the subject of today’s post. The naming of the Oboe seems to be a witty wordplay on the word hobo, and it’s pretty apt considering that it’s designed to be worn over the shoulder like a casual everyday bag.

Whether you’re going for the teeny-tiny mini size or the oversized that comes in the largest size, the strap can be easily adjusted via the innovative leather buckle at the side, giving you ample room to carry the Oboe with ease. Subtle logo elements allow the Italian hammered leather to shine, making this a perfect option for ladies who prefer a discreet-looking bag that isn’t big on logos or monograms.

Instead, the smooth curves provide a certain fluidity to the bag, giving you an elegant design that will weather the test of time. Singapore is currently carrying two sizes of the Oboe, with the mini size and the small size priced at SGD2150 and SGD2340 for the ones in full leather. If you need a size reference, the mini one is approximately 29.5 cm wide and 26.5 cm high, while the small one is slightly wider and taller at 36.5 cm by 33.5 cm.

There are plenty of colours to keep an eye out for, ranging from the classic options in BlackBrown and Grey to the vibrant options like Red and Yellow which are perfect for the season. Looking for a sleek companion that’s also well-made in a good, sturdy leather? This could be it.
