This post goes out to the men who are constantly waiting for their girlfriends/wives to shop to their hearts’ content at Hermès because the French luxury brand has a pretty neat range of bags catered specially for him. The Steve is just one of many, but this new-in Steve Light Junior size ticks all the right boxes of a casual (but luxurious) messenger bag.
The hardware on Hermès’ men’s bags are always kept to a minimum, and you can expect the same for the Steve Light Junior. Lift the pull-tab strap from the palladium-plated bar and you will find a single compartment for all your daily needs. A small tablet (iPad Air) will fit within the 27 cm by 23 cm bag, and the zipped slot is great for storing important items like a cardholder and wallet, amongst others. You will find another pocket closer to the front as well, great for slipping notes, receipts and bits and bobs, giving you a functional bag that’s quietly handsome.
If you’re a lady looking for a new bag to get for her man (and also a good excuse to step into Hermès), you can now consider this bag, which is now available at the boutiques in Marina Bay Sands, Liat Towers and Takashimaya Department Store. Priced from SGD7400 each, you can find it online via H Singapore as well, with two colours Gold and Noir made in Evercolor and Togo calfskin respectively. There’s a slight difference in terms of grain texture and leather pricing (Evercolor costs SGD100 more), so do consider that when you’re choosing between the two.
