New year, new page. Moynat’s new Creative Director Nicholas Knightly seems to have settled in nicely and the French luxury bag maker has just unveiled 6 new bags which will gradually be released as the year progresses. And while some of you might wonder who Knightly is, he was previously at Louis Vuitton for 15 years, bringing with him experience and expertise honed from being in charge of leather goods.

And while there are a total of 4 leather creations (and two in Moynat’s Canvas 1920 coated-canvas), today’s focus will be the new Le Flori, Moynat’s take on the shoulder satchel that has an enlarged lock clasp as the main feature, also a homage to the luxury brand’s history as a revered trunk maker since 1849.

Measuring some 20 cm by 19 cm by 9 cm, you can expect the same level of finish and quality from bags of years past, with the exterior in Taurilon Blush leather that’s finished with Calf Pearl leather lining on the inside. There’s the top handle (another nod to Moynat’s heritage when they had smaller trunks attached with such handles), and a matching tone-on-tone leather strap that completes the look.

Expected to launch in Singapore sometime in April 2021, you can expect more updates when the pieces start arriving on the island. The other bags in the pipeline? Well, there’s a handy bucket, a pair of elegant top handles, as well as two structured coated-canvas bags inspired by hat boxes and trunks of yore, all inspired heavily by what was found in the brand’s archives. In other words, more updates to come.
