Hermès: Your Refresher On The Mini Lindy Bag

IMAGE: HERMÈS

It’s no secret that certain bags at Hermès are harder to obtain than others, one of them being the Mini Lindy that’s constantly snapped up the moment it’s up for sale in Singapore. Yes, you can argue that it isn’t as exclusive as the Birkin, Constance or the Kelly (it isn’t classed a quota bag, and sometimes you do see it online via H Singapore), but getting one just by walking in is simply impossible for most.

So why is the Mini Lindy (or Lindy Mini) so popular? Well, it’s mostly attributed to its size, which at 19 cm wide and 12.5 cm high makes it super adorable from all angles. The bigger ones like the Lindy 26 and Lindy 30 are mostly carried under the arm and seen as a day-to-day bag, but the Mini Lindy is the only one that can be slung across the body with its longer leather sling, giving it a casual appeal that’s equally chic to boot.

It also carries all the signature elements of the classic Lindy, from the semi-structured relaxed body that can be morphed into different shapes, taking on a ‘wider’ silhouette when the bag is filled, or a ‘compact’ version if you keep both handles close to each other. Then there’s the proportionately sized hardware to match the size, which is another irresistible feature of this highly coveted bag.

What’s more, it is also one of the key Hermès bags (other examples include the Bolide) that come fully lined in leather, which explains why prices start from SGD9000 for the ones in Clemence leather. It also comes in Swift leather, which is priced slightly higher, but the bag’s colour availability is pretty much the same between the two, along with the seasonal colours that are too pretty to resist. Throw on a matching Rodeo charm, twirl up the handles with their silks, and you’re pretty much good to go.
