According to some fengshui professionals, a red wallet is a no-no as they suggest that ‘fire will burn wealth’. So whilst a red handbag is fine, you might want to consider a non-red hue when it comes to a new wallet for the new year if you are the superstitious sort, and for everyone else who isn’t, here are pretty alternatives that are also very easy on the eyes.
Firstly there’s the Neo Classic Mini (SGD575) from Balenciaga. In a deep pink that’s definitely close but not red, this is the signature everyone remembers, complete with one bill pocket and 3 card slots. Next is Celine’s Small Triomphe Wallet (SGD890), a chic lambskin wallet coming in a delicious colour known as Lychee. The Triomphe metallic snap button closure opens to reveal five credit card slots and a folded coin pocket right in the middle, along with a note pocket by the side. Next, the Classic Flap Purse (SGD860) from Chanel, a small but fuss-free SLG that reveals two separate compartments for cards, cash and coins. Pink returns once again for the season, appearing on the grained Caviar calfskin for that added tactile touch and feel.
The next three wallets feature a V-shaped envelope flap that many love. Not to be confused with another Louis Vuitton signature (the Victorine Wallet), the Zoé Wallet in Rose Poudre (SGD955) pictured above features a slightly slimmer silhouette, measuring 9.5 cm by 7.5 cm that will allow it to fit easily within miniature bags like the Petit Sac Plat, for example.
Then there’s Prada’s Small Saffiano Leather Wallet (SGD860), which unfolds like an origami masterpiece to reveal a double bill compartment and a coin pocket with a snap closure in front. Powder Pink is a refreshing change from the typical black, making this a chic option for ladies looking for a delicate pastel hue from Prada. Lastly, the Monogram Small Envelope Wallet (SGD520) from Saint Laurent also happens to be another signature of the house, featuring Grain de Poudre embossed leather in Dark Beige that encompasses four card slots on the interior, as well as an extra slit pocket right at the back. New year, new wallet?
