The Flamenco is one of the oldest designs at the house of Loewe, created back in the 1970s using lightweight Nappa leather that was solely reserved for garments (RTW) back in the day. You can say that it was a game-changer for Loewe handbags, giving it a soft and luxurious appeal while maintaining lightweight qualities that made it the perfect choice for the everyday. And while it is still the main leather used for Flamenco bags today, Creative Director Jonathan Anderson has transformed (and updated) the Flamenco slightly.
The designer has introduced several elements to give it a refreshing new look: Anagram logo shifted to the side, concealed snap button magnets and sailor’s knot at the ends, braided by hand to form a unique pattern that’s visually appealing even from afar.
And while it might seem small, the subject of today’s post is large enough for all your errands around town. Three new colours were also introduced for the Spring-Summer 2021 line-up, namely Apple Green, Malbec (red wine) and Yellow (shown above). Aside from using it as a clutch (the Mini Flamenco Clutch, SGD2400, 24 cm by 18 cm), the good folks at Loewe have also given a detachable (and adjustable) shoulder strap, allowing you to carry it over the shoulder or across the body for a hands-free look.
