It’s new year, new lipsticks for Dior Makeup, as the brand marks 2021 with an overhaul of its iconic Rouge Dior lipsticks. The lipstick, which was first created in 1953, is now better than ever with a new case and colour-enhancing formula enriched with floral lip-care benefits.
Right off the bat you’ll notice that the midnight blue case with the iconic Cannage motif is now embellished with the timeless CD initials, echoing the fitted waists of Dior’s RTW reinterpreted each season. And as the brand embraces the sustainable approach, the cases are once again refillable, just as their first lipstick creation was.
What else is new? The formula has also been upgraded with a perfect balance of pigments and lip-care ingredients. Each bullet has been infused with the protective power of flowers, such as red peony to preserve the pout’s natural moisture and boost the luminosity of each shade; and pomegranate blossom to provide suppleness and comfort, so lips don’t dry out and colour doesn’t feather.
You can expect 36 shades, including the new Rouge Dior Satin Balm, in 4 fabric-inspired finishes, 2 of which are completely new. Joining the existing satin and matte finishes are the extra-matte velvet finish with long-lasting comfort, and a bright, bold metallic. Not sure where to start? Try signature shades 999 Velvet (a sensual crimson red), 100 Nude Look (a perfect blend of grey and beige), 080 Red Smile (a vibrant red, one of the first created by Dior in 1950) and 525 Cherie (a rosewood nude).
Priced at SGD56, the new Rouge Dior is now available at all Dior Beauty boutiques and counters, with refills coming in August 2021.
