Chanel’s Iconic Timepiece Now Made Even Better With An Added Icon

Every once in a while, Chanel will release exclusive timepieces that are only available in limited quantities worldwide, and one of them includes this all-new interpretation of the iconic Première watch. The octagonal casing (inspired by the one-and-only N°5 bottle topper) has long been regarded as one of the most iconic features of the Première watch, but today, Chanel has included another signature by its side, the delicate camellia which doubles up as a fancy charm at the 3 o’clock position. The camellia was Mademoiselle Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite flower, as she famously wore it as a brooch back way then.

Over the years, the camellia has blossomed into an icon at the house of Chanel, and now appears on the all-new Première Extrait de Camélia watch, which comes in 2 exclusive editions this year. Both timepieces feature an 18K yellow gold case paired with a black rubber strap, but the similarities end there.

For easier reference, the watches (they both come in the exact same name) will be identified by their article number. H6361 is a relatively simple timepiece with a clean-looking black lacquered dial, decorated with a single camélia charm set with 1 brilliant-cut diamond. The other would be the H6362, made for the lady who’s a firm believer in more-is-more. H6362’s dial is adorned with 116 brilliant-cut diamonds, with the caméllia charm amped up with another 26 brilliant-cut diamonds that makes this a dazzling beauty even from afar.

Diamonds pretty much determine the difference in pricing between the two, as the technical specifications are the same (water-resistant to 30 metres and high-precision quartz movement) between H6361 (SGD9500) and H6362 (SGD19,050). And with less than a 1000 pieces released worldwide, you should visit the Chanel WFJ boutique as well as the fashion boutiques (Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre) as soon as you can to add this new icon to your watch collection.
