Roger Vivier has been at the forefront of luxury sneakers for several years now, so it comes without surprise that the French maison has recently introduced a brand new silhouette simply known as the Viv’ Skate. Just like its predecessor (the Viv’ Run sneakers designed by Creative Director Gherardo Felloni back in 2018), the Viv’ Skate offers a casual twist to the ballerinas and pumps which you’re already familiar with, this time finished with a metallic buckle that can be found at the side or over on top.

The sneakers feature a chunky rubber outsole inspired by the skateboarding culture (hence the name Viv’ Skate) back in the 1970s, and you will be able to find it in two main styles; the lace-up Viv’ Skate Strass Buckle Sneakers (buckle on the side) as well as the RV Broche Slip-Ons (buckle on top). For Spring-Summer 2021, Gherardo Felloni has ensured that the metallic buckle remains a key visual element of the collection, dressing it up further with 32 different crystals that are carefully assembled by hand.

Aside from materials like calfskin leather and velvet, the Viv’ Skate will be available in an array of colours such as Black, Blue, Pink, White and Yellow, which can be found in either boutiques at Marina Bay Sands or Takashimaya Department Store. Prices also differ slightly between the Viv’ Skate RV Broche Slip-Ons (SGD2000) and the Viv’ Skate Strass Buckle Sneakers (SGD2060), so you have to decide if you prefer the style with laces or something a little more fuss-free for you to slip in and out easily.
