Loewe: All About The Heel

You often hear of bags getting downsized into miniature formats for its newer editions, but it’s the complete opposite when it comes to the Heel family from Spanish luxury brand, Loewe. What started out as the Mini Heel Pouch has evolved into the full-sized Heel Bag, along with a third in-between known as the Small Heel Pouch, giving you a total of 3 different sizes to choose from.

Identified by its uniquely curved base and flat top (a look that is consistent across all pieces big and small), they all come with a minimalistic look-and-feel that’s very much in line with Loewe’s design ethos. Typically made in classic neutrals save for the seasonal variations (like the recent ones done in collaboration with Ken Price, for example), most of the classics will feature a stamped anagram logo on the side, or a large perforated anagram logo in the middle.

The Mini Heel Pouch (SGD550) was created to be worn around the neck, opening up to a single compartment and nothing more, great for holding small trinkets (or AirPods sans the charging case), coins and a single key or two.

The Small Heel Pouch (SGD750), on the other hand, is slightly bigger at 12.5 cm by 11.5 cm, with a larger interior that will be able to fit 3 cards (within the individual slots), as well as a main compartment which will hold your notes, amongst others. It also has a longer leather strap that allows it to be slung comfortably across the body, making it the perfect unisex size (not too small or overly large) for him and her.

And because the first two were so popular, that spurred Loewe to come out with the largest Heel Bag, one that measures 17.5 cm across and 15 cm high. Big enough to fit a tad more (think the #iPhone12Mini, for example), making it a great everyday bag with an attractive price point (from SGD1300 and up). Also, you can also wear it like a belt bag by adjusting the leather sling, or remove it altogether and simply use it as a hand-held clutch.
