Prada made a genius move with its latest design, stripping down the iconic Galleria bag by removing the dual zip closures at the top and shrinking down the proportions to a chic (but handy) size simply known as the ‘micro’ Galleria. Measuring 22 cm wide and 16 cm high, the miniature number retains several elements from its iconic sibling, such as the iconic Prada logo in front, as well as the snap buttons at the side which can be kept on for a slimmer look, or unbuttoned if you need a bit more leeway for days when you need to carry extra stuff.
Now, the beauty of the bag goes beyond its simplicity and minimalist appeal, all thanks to the woven jacquard shoulder strap that is sold together with the bag. The thin leather strap is now gone, and Prada has replaced it with the sportier-looking (and way more comfortable) strap that has a length of approximately 85 cm. It’s also adjustable and removable, so you can go ahead and pair it with your other Prada bags, or leave it on for a contemporary look, giving a modern twist to the classic Saffiano leather bag.
You will also find that Prada has included an extra leather pouch that doubles up as a bag charm/key pouch, one that can be left on the woven strap, or hooked onto the metallic loops found on the bag’s top handles. The other bonus point would be the choice of colours, of course, with the bag (SGD3000) coming in Astral Blue, Black, Cameo Beige, Slate Grey and White, all of which can be found on Prada’s online store, or in the boutiques located islandwide in Singapore. You can always count on the Italian luxury brand to create minimalistic designs with a twist, and this tiny wonder is one that delivers, without a doubt.
