Has it been a decade since Mulberry introduced its beloved Alexa? The bestselling, well-loved bag that took the fashion world by storm in 2010, before it was down to a couple of classic colours (Black and Oak) in 2016 and disappeared altogether in 2017. Fast forward several years later, Mulberry has decided to bring it all back, relaunching it in a smashing new range of colours, since 2020 marks a decade of the iconic Alexa.
And while bag trends come and go, the Alexa was highly regarded as one of the must-have satchels for ladies, making it perfect sense for the British house to revive the iconic silhouette. The new Alexa bags all come in heavy grain leather, sourced from the gold standard and environmentally accredited tanneries in carbon-neutral UK factories.
Aside from a slight update in terms of the leather, everything else from the braided top handle to the double front straps remain the same, along with Mulberry’s signature Postman’s Lock clasp that gives it the perfect finishing touch right in front. The accompanying shoulder straps are all removable and adjustable, and the roomy main compartment (depth of 10 cm in the Mini Alexa) is more than enough for your daily needs.
Mulberry Singapore will be launching their pieces very soon, so reach out directly to the boutiques at Hilton Hotel (6304-1360) and Takashimaya Department Store (6304-1372) to find out more. Prices will start at around SGD1600 for the Mini Alexa, going up to SGD2000 for the regular-sized Alexa and SGD2300 for the Oversized Alexa, though prices are just an estimate right now. The Mini Alexa is definitely a good start considering smaller handbags are on trend of late, so you could start there as it will come in 5 different colours like Black, Chalk, Chestnut, Neon Yellow and Porcelain Blue.
