Moynat Oh! Tote Medallion

If more is more is definitely your thing, you’ll want to read on. Moynat’s circular mark (affectionately known as the medallion) has its roots dating back to the 1930s, one that features a typographic design which spells out MOYNAT in full, with the words Malles Et Objets De Voyage and Fondee En 1849 – Paris featured within the medallion’s circular design. Not only has it grown to become a symbol of the brand’s trunk-making savoir-faire, it has also been officially adopted as a signature of the house in recent years.

This November, Moynat has decided to supersize the signature medallion, tripling (or rather, quadrupling) the Art Deco-inspired logo and placing it on three corners front and back of their coated-canvas totes. This limited series is simply known as the Oh! Tote Medallion collection, available only in the MM size which measures 45 cm at its widest and 27 cm high.

You can look forward to 3 colour combinations, Carbon/Silver/Powder, Carbon/Bronze/Boreal Green and Indigo/Bronze/Sky Blue, all presented on Toile 1920 canvas. And in layman speak, that means there’s a black/silver tote with pink detailing, another in two shades of blue with gold monograms and a third in black/gold with green detailing around the medallion. In other words, whether you’re looking for fun and young or older and chic, there’s definitely a colour combo for you.

Another piece of good news? Moynat has added an accompanying zippered pouch for the Oh! Tote Medallion series, sold together with the tote at SGD2370 a set. The pouch can be used to store cardholders and other SLGs securely, so that’s great for those who are constantly unsure about open totes.

And while it isn’t officially for sale yet (the shipment is slowly being released to boutiques in Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre), you can always head down and make full payment to secure your tote first. And if you love everything Moynat medallion, you can also look forward to the colourful vegetable-tanned leather Medallion Bag Charms (SGD250) that have been launched as well.
