Under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, Loewe has blossomed into a true luxury house that prides itself on balancing the art of both craft and design, with the CASA LOEWE flagship concept just one of many (from the artisanal basket-woven bags to groundbreaking collaborations with Paula’s Ibiza) that demonstrate this notion to perfection. And with CASA LOEWE now opened in Singapore, this also makes it the first such flagship in Southeast Asia after Madrid, London, Tokyo and Beijing.
The boutique is more than just another retail concept, because you will get to experience Loewe in its entirety, all thanks to the furnishings that range from renowned paintings to handcrafted objects that were specially curated by the designer himself. Step right in and you will find yourself amazed by the concrete walls and lush wood panelling, as well as a traditional ceramic wall (handmade and flown in from Spain) that serves as a beautiful backdrop for their most iconic bags within CASA LOEWE.
There’s also an antique chandelier juxtaposed with a replica from Antique Associates, Utrecht armchairs by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld and Conoid Cushion chairs by George Nakashima that will make you make you feel right at home. You might be tempted to take home the benches specially commissioned by Loewe Foundation Craft Prize finalists Jim Patridge and Liz Walmsle or even the coffee table by Axel Vervoordt, but they are part of the permanent collection at the flagship store, which does feel more like a modern art gallery than a retail boutique at times.
However, what you can actually bring home with you are the beautiful selections of bags, RTW and SLGs for both men and women, located all around the 340 sqm store. There’s a wall filled with products from Loewe’s latest Home Scents collection, such as scented candles and room sprays that all make for the perfect gift during this upcoming holiday season, and another featuring the Eye/LOEWE/Nature collection, with other sections showcasing seasonal accessories, eyewear, jewellery and shoes. In other words, you should definitely head to CASA Loewe at ION Orchard (01-11A/12) for a retail experience like no other.
