Saint Laurent: 5 Things To Know About The New Carré Satchel

If you’re not exactly a fan of Saint Laurent’s quilted overstitching, then you will be pleased to know that the French luxury brand is gradually introducing exciting options in smooth leather, such as the Carré Satchel, which is one of the key designs for Fall-Winter 2020. The boxy bag measures 24 cm wide and 17.5 cm high, making it the perfect size for day and night, slung casually over the shoulder to keep your hands free while on the go. The star of the fuss-free satchel would have to be the Saint Laurent Paris-engraved square clip fastening, a cleaner, simpler design that sets it apart from the usual (and large) YSL initials, so that’s another plus point if you want something that stands out from the crowd. And with that, here are 5 more facts you need to know.

01 – The Carré Satchel is not a new design at the house. In fact, the design makes a return in different colours season after season, allowing Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello to keep things fresh and exciting for the lovers of all-things Saint Laurent.

02 – For Fall-Winter 2020, Saint Laurent has finally introduced the Carré Satchel in Box calfskin (joining the likes of the Solferino and Tuc), a leather prized for its smooth good looks that will develop a lovely sheen and patina over time.

03 – This season also welcomes fresh new additions in black shiny alligator, as well as Bleu Smalt and Cactus in ostrich leather, giving you extra special options if you’ve always wanted to add an exotic Saint Laurent bag to your ever-growing wardrobe.

04 – There are also plenty of bright and bold colours for the season, such as Sapphire Blue and Vinyle Shiny Red, along with the standard options like Dark Sun (Tan) and classic Black.

05 – As for the price, they start from SGD4250 for Box calfskin leather, and you can take your pick from the selection online, or head down to the boutiques to view (and try) them on in person, which is always helpful if you aren’t 100% sure yet.
