Dior F/W20 Embroidered Velvet Medium Lady D-Lite Bag

With the next season heading into full swing this September, Dior is beginning to roll out its runway collections in progressive drops, starting with an entire line-up of handbags dedicated to all-things velvet. While this isn’t the first time that the French luxury brand has introduced lush velvety versions of its signature Lady Dior bag, having them embroidered with the intricate Cannage motif and ‘Christian Dior’ signature in the reworked Lady D-Lite format is certainly a treat, especially for those who avoid the full leather Lady Dior bags due to their inherent weight.

The embroidered velvet versions of the Lady D-Lite will come in 3 colours. They comprise Blue, Burgundy and Green, all of which come in a deeper (and more intense) colour in contrast to the classic designs which are typically made from embroidered canvas. The darker hues do give them an added touch of luxe, which is a good step forward considering the premium they are selling for right now.

Each bag is also sold together with a reversible (embroidered on one side, and the Christian Dior logo on the other) shoulder strap which could be much thicker, but it does save you the need to get an extra one if you prefer carrying your bags across the body. And should you need a recap of the size, the Lady D-Lite is currently available in the Medium size, measuring 24 cm wide and 20 cm high. It also has a pretty broad base (11 cm), which means that you will be able to fit several essential items comfortably within, such as extra face masks, hand sanitiser, along with a handy portable charger, amongst others.

A quick check with the local Dior boutique reveals that the Embroidered Velvet Lady D-Lite (SGD7100) is currently down to the Burgundy version, but don’t let that stop you from heading down to put yourself on the wait list. A trip to the physical store also means that you can view other pieces from the new collection, such as the Book Tote and Saddle Bag, which also come in lush embroidered velvet.
