Coach x Jean-Michel Basquiat Collection

Stuart Vevers has flipped traditional notions by adding a bold splash of colour and patterns to Coach’s Fall-Winter 2020 runway collection, with dark deep hues usually reserved for this season’s usual offerings. And in a brilliant showcase that integrated Coach’s heritage with numerous pop-culture references, the American fashion house sent down colour-blocking outfits, shearling coats decorated with patchwork motifs, as well as a contemporary line-up of geometrical-shaped leather goods coined the City Block bags.

More importantly, Coach worked together with the estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat to feature a series of the late designer’s abstract artwork on some RTW and bags, with the graphic prints adding a fresh touch and vibrancy to some of your favourite pieces from Coach. The Coach x Jean-Michel Basquiat collection comprises designs for both men and women, with some of the key pieces being the Triangle Bag 24 (SGD1100) and the Square Bag (SGD1100), both new in-shapes recently introduced for the season.

Other familiar favourites make a return as well, such as the Rouge 25 (SGD1400) handbag crafted in a mix of glove-tanned leather and suede, coming in a roomy size measuring 25 cm by 20 cm that’s more than enough for a good day’s worth of essentials. The men can look forward to the Wells Backpack (SGD1750), a leather backpack equipped with a breathable mesh backing that’s all about comfort and style, or go for the Rogue Crossbody 12 (SGD895) if you need a cool grab-and-go that will fit your iPhone, compact wallet, keys, and other bits and bobs.

The good news is that the Coach x Jean-Michel Basquiat collection is now available at Coach boutiques in Singapore, so if you can’t get enough of these beautifully styled pictures, then you should head down to view them all in person. Some tees and hoodies have arrived as well, excellent for those who just want to complete the look.
