Chanel Fall-Winter 2020 Ballerina Flats

The year was 1984 when Karl Lagerfeld reimagined Gabrielle Chanel’s two-tone slingback pump, creating a chic and comfortable pair of flats that came to be known as the ballerina. The original design featured a beige upper dressed up with a black toe cap, coming in a sleek-looking design inspired by the world of dance; hence the name. Today, the chic pair of flats has firmly established its position as one of the key silhouettes, appearing in all collections from the French luxury house. And for the upcoming Fall-Winter 2020 line-up, you will be pleased to know that it will make a return in bold new colours and materials.

There’s one in full brown leather, coming in a single-tone design from the bow to the toe-cap, as well as the leather insoles. Yes, it might not feature the original two-tone design like its predecessors, but Chanel’s ballerina flats are unmistakable even from afar, especially when these versions come with the CC logo stitched onto the toe cap. The next two are rather unique, both featuring a tweed exterior (something not seen very often in the ballerina family) in colours like Green and Pink, along with a black patent leather toe cap that gives it a lovely contrast.

All 3 styles are part of the Fall-Winter 2020 collection which launches in Singapore from 25 September 2020, and you might even find other variations available in the boutique come launch day.
