Celine: 5 Things To Know About The New #CELINE16 Strap

It’s been a long time coming, but the wait is now finally over! Celine has officially launched a brand new accessory called the #CELINE16 Strap, one that can be hooked onto your favourite bags for a fresh and contemporary twist, all thanks to the thick (and broad) wool strap which scores multiple points for its casual good looks. And here are 5 quick facts you have to know…

01 –  The woven wool strap is not a new concept at Celine, and you can spot it on current offerings like the versatile Sangle Bucket Bag, for example. However, this is the first time that the French luxury brand has begun selling them individually, which is good news for those of you who love dressing up your bags as you please.

02 – The straps come in a variety of colour combinations, with four specific versions like Amazon/Natural, Natural/Grey, Natural/Tan and Red/Natural from the Fall-Winter 2020 collection.

03 – The good news is that the #CELINE16 Strap will come in two drop lengths, which measure 45 cm and 52 cm respectively. No prizes for guessing why, because some of you like carrying your bags over the shoulder while others love the ‘across the body’, so Celine has catered for both sides of the camp, as well as a length that’s long enough even for guys.

04 – For those wondering why it’s named as such, that’s because the strap carries elements from the first handbag designed by Hedi Slimane at Celine, evident in the bold pop of colour running down the middle that mimics the leather detailing found on the front of the #CELINE16 Bag. More importantly, the new strap also updates the #CELINE16 Bag and gives it a fresh new look.

05 – All four colours and sizes will be made available at both Celine boutiques (Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre) from mid-October 2020 onwards, but you can start placing pre-orders right now to secure your piece. How much, you ask? The shorter strap will be priced at SGD530, while the longer one retails for SGD590 each.
