If July is all about the Pre-Fall collections for the women, then August is all about the men’s Fall-Winter line-up. So it’s time you boys sit right up and pick your favourite pieces because this Fall-Winter 2020 collection has been popping up in boutiques of late. Designed by Virgil Abloh, LV’s Monogram Clouds collection is inspired by the dreamy possibilities between his ‘heaven on earth’.

Besides dressing up the signature Monogram Canvas in a cool blue gradient print, with letters L and V forming ‘white fluffy clouds’ against the gradient ‘sky. The bright and refreshing pattern goes beyond the traditional black-and-grey tones seen on the Monogram Eclipse and Damier Graphite, with this collection literally taking it to new heights.

You will find signature designs like the Keepall and Soft Trunk, as well as SLGs such as the Pocket Organiser and Pochette Voyage, which are all classic pieces from Louis Vuitton. But if you’re on the hunt for fresh and exciting designs, then you will be pleased to know that Virgil Abloh has introduced not 1, not 2, but 4 different new styles for this collection.

The Backpack Multipocket (SGD3750) is a functional design equipped with several compartments that make for easy packing. Coming in a single size, the 40 cm by 30 cm wonder will be able to hold your laptop with ease, making for a stylish day-to-day bag that’s a real head-turner for sure.

As for the Backpack Trunk, you might want to think twice about carrying it daily, because this one’s more of a decorative art piece that looks best when displayed in your room full of precious hard-sided luggage from Louis Vuitton. Each 50.5 cm by 37 cm bag (or is it a trunk?) comes with wooden slates, leather trimmings and the S-lock closure as seen on the signature suitcases of the French luxury brand, with two removable shoulder straps that will convert it into a backpack for those who are daring enough to hit the streets with it. Priced from SGD42,500 for the Monogram Clouds version, this is easily one of the most covetable pieces in this line-up.

The Soft Trunk family welcomes two new silhouettes, namely the Soft Trunk NW (SGD1320) and Soft Trunk Wallet (SGD3350), which feature reinforced corners inspired by the house’s trunk-making heritage. NW stands for ‘neck wallet’, and is meant to be worn around the neck by way of the long leather lanyard. The Soft Trunk Wallet can be considered a WOC alternative to the bigger Soft Trunk, measuring 22.5 cm by 14 cm, which is a decent size that looks great when slung across the body.
