Back in 2018, Kate Spade’s Creative Director Nicola Glass combined her love for hearts and the brand’s imitable Spade symbol, resulting in the creation of the Spade Flower which you’ve seen across accessories and bags like iPhone cases, large totes and even the fun and playful umbrellas. You can picture it as four spades (each bearing a cut-out heart within) cleverly arranged to form a flower pattern, with the Spade Flower establishing itself as a new signature of the house that has been continuously revisited season after season.

For Fall 2020, the brand has updated it with extra fruits (cherries!) and racing stripes, giving the print an extra pop of colour that will instantly bring a smile to your face. The collection sees the introduction of 5 new designs, with the Medium Crossbody and Vanity Handbag being the 2 standout pieces that you wouldn’t want to miss out on. Both bags are made from coated canvas designed together with Italian textile mill Limonta, so you can be assured of quality from the famed fabric company that’s been around for over 127 years. The Medium Crossbody (SGD440) is a fun and cheeky design decorated with green cherries front and back, while the Vanity Handbag (SGD390) comes with a structured top handle and boxy silhouette that’s very much on-trend these days. The latter also comes with green and pink racing stripes, which form a bold contrast against the Spade Flower jacquard body.

While the bags come decorated with a tan leather trim all-around, both designs (as well as the rest of the collection) are predominantly made of coated canvas, making them lightweight options that are perfect for the everyday. Don’t rush down to the Kate Spade boutiques yet, because the collection is slated for launch in August 2020. However, you can always leave your name and (cherry) pick the ones you love, so you can secure your piece before the Fall 2020 collection arrives.
