For years, fans of the French luxury house have been yearning for a WOC-silhouette of their most popular designs, just so that they can keep their bags at home and switch out to a tinier piece for days when they don’t have much to carry.
Well, the wait is over, as Hermès has recently introduced the To Go versions of the Constance Long and Kelly Wallet. You no longer have to add a scarf through the flap to carry your wallet hands-free, as both designs are equipped with a removable shoulder strap that’s long enough (110 cm) to be worn across the body.
Both designs come with an ingenious mechanism hidden beneath the front flap, along with two ring loops at the sides of the leather strap so it will never get creased when in use. Bonus points must be given to the design team because these are factors that will usually cause wear and tear, so you can be sure that the Constance Long To Go & Kelly To Go Wallet will withstand the test of time.
As for the interior compartments, they are slightly different from the ones found in the classic long wallets, even though they come in the same size. The Kelly To Go Wallet measures 19.7 cm wide and 11.5 cm high, armed with 4 card slots, a central zipped change purse, and two roomy pockets for all your bits and bobs. The Constance Long To Go Wallet is wider and taller at 20.5 cm by 13 cm (picture it as a miniaturised version of the Constance Elan), coming with 6 card slots, 2 slip pockets, a central zipped change purse, as well as an exterior slot found at the back.
The good news? They are priced slightly higher (about SGD1000 difference) than the original wallets, starting from SGD6600 for the Kelly To Go Wallet and SGD8500 for the Constance Long To Go Wallet in Epsom leather. The not-so-good news? These coveted designs have garnered long waitlists at the boutiques, so you wouldn’t be able to find them online either. But if what they say is true, good things are certainly worth the wait. You just have to head down to indicate your interest pronto.
