Officially, they call this the Flap Bag, because as the name suggests, it does feature a front flap on an essentially Chanel shape, but unofficially, it is referred to as the ‘Coco Handle’, though no one really knows why. ‘Coco’ as an ode to the founder? ‘Handle’ because it is also the bag’s most obvious feature?
Then again, this post isn’t about solving that mystery, but showing you this mysterious new beauty from their Métiers d’Art 2020 collection. Featuring the much sought after ‘so black’ finish, it is probably one of the last bags at Chanel to be given this treatment, with the Gabrielle being the last one in most recent memory.

Measuring 29 cm by 18 cm by 12 cm, it is also finished in the most hardwearing leather at Chanel yet, the iconic Caviar leather that’s also simply stunning. Featuring an additional leather sling (in black), with the top handle (also in black) and a slightly shiny clasp (shiny, but still black), the bag is priced at SGD6920, which all things considered for a full leather Chanel bag, is a pretty decent price. Especially for this one-off black beauty that’s not only functional, but also a good one to add to your bag collection.
