#BAGAHOLICBOY SHOPS: Surf’s Up With These Designer Boards

Call it a case of ‘great minds think alike’ because designer surfboards are making waves (yes, pun fully intended) in the fashion industry of late. Designer brands like Burberry and Dior have recently introduced their own versions in the TB Summer Monogram and Dior x Shawn Pre-Fall 2020 capsule collections, while Chanel and Louis Vuitton launched theirs slightly earlier this year. And while the truth is that no one actually surfs in the waters around Singapore, true fans of the brands wouldn’t mind a piece (or two) even if it means it is just a home decor accessory.

First up, the Monogram Print Surfboard (SGD7500) from Burberry is available in 3 colour combinations comprising Dark Beige, Graphite and Pale Azure (pictured), and you can head online to make your pre-orders now. All 3 designs feature Burberry’s signature TB Monogram and are made exclusively for Burberry by Euroglass. Next, there’s Chanel’s Wakesurf Board (SGD10,910) which you’ll probably have to order ahead as well and see if they can ship one in for you.

Dior’s exclusive design was done in collaboration with Shawn Stussy, making it the very first surfboard created at the French luxury house. The streamlined silhouette is fully decorated in the Dior x Shawn motif, requiring up to 72 hours from start to finish at the Uwl Workshop in La Rochelle, France. There are only 100 numbered editions available worldwide, so you should reach out ASAP to find out how you can get your hands on one.

Lastly, the LV Escale Skimboard (SGD2830) is more for tricks and skimming rather than surfing per se, but it’s generally classified under one big family of water sports. This one’s made entirely out of wood, adorned with Louis Vuitton logos and the LV Escale print on the underside.

The carbon board by Chanel is a wakesurf, it doesn’t need ocean waves, only a good wakesurf boat, so it’s great for Singapore, indeed!
